Study Hints
While studying these lessons, there are a few vital points to keep in mind in order to best ensure you learn these skills, can apply them and so make a happy life for yourself and those around you.
Point 1: By far, the most important barrier to understanding these lessons is to read past words that you don't understand or don't understand in the way they are being used in the lesson. To help you with this, key words and words that are often not fully understood are highlighted in a green colored font. If you are using a mouse, hover it over the word and the applicable definition will be displayed. You can also click on the word to take you to the definition at the bottom of the page. Once you've read the definition at the bottom of the page, you can click on the word to return to the area of the page you were reading.
Point 2: As you study each lesson, observe for yourself if the precept is true for you. Ask yourself if and how it would increase your survival and the survival of others. See what you see, not what someone tells you that you see. What you observe is what you observe. Look at situations and life and others directly, not through any cloud of prejudice or through the interpretation of it by another person.
Point 3: You may find some of these skills are more difficult than others to make a routine part of your life. Some you may find difficult to stick to. There are two actions you can take to deal with this. First: Simply review the lesson you are having difficulty with using the listing of lessons marked "Review Only." Second: You may be connected to people who are influencing you in such a way as to make it impossible for you to stay on the road to happiness. If this is the case, you need to learn how to discover who will help you stay on the road to happiness and who will take you off that road. You can acquire that skill with the free, online course: Emotional Tone Scale. More on this course
